Super Simple Instructions

  1. Select Crop and Input Mode
    • Select Crop Type: Choose the grain you are calculating (Corn, Soybeans, Wheat, etc.). This automatically sets the market standard moisture and bushel weight.
    • Initial Harvest Input: Use the radio buttons to select your preferred input unit (Bushels, Weight (LBS), or Metric Tons (MT)) and enter the initial value. The unused input fields will automatically update to show the converted equivalents for easy cross-reference.
  2. Enter Moisture and Optional Loss
    • Initial Moisture (%): Enter the moisture reading straight from the field or wet storage.
    • Final Moisture (%): This field will automatically display the market standard for the selected crop (e.g., 15.5% for corn).
    • Handling Loss: Check the box if you want to include the standard Handling Loss (dust, chaff, and breakage) into the total shrink calculation.
  3. Review the Results
    • The results section displays the full breakdown, including Moisture Shrink % and Total Shrink %.
    • Total Loss and Final Dry Weight are shown simultaneously in Bushels, LBS, and MT, calculated using the specific standards for your chosen crop. The results update instantly as you type!
