This powerful tool helps you quickly and accurately* determine the total marketable yield remaining after harvest weight is adjusted for moisture drying and handling loss. You can also project your Gross Revenue using your anticipated yield and sales price.

Super Simple Instructions

  1. [Optional] Use the Yield Planner
    • Plan & Set Bushels: Input your anticipated Acres and Yield (BU/Acre) along with a Sales Price ($/BU). The planner automatically calculates your Total Wet Bushels and transfers that value to the main calculator's Bushels input.
  2. Select Input Mode and Harvest Quantity
    • Select Crop Type: Choose the grain you are calculating (Corn, Soybeans, Wheat, etc.). This automatically sets the market standard moisture and bushel weight.
    • Initial Harvest Input: Use the radio buttons to select your preferred input unit (Bushels (BU), Pounds (LBS), CWT, Tons (ST), or Metric Tons (MT)) and enter the initial value. Unused fields automatically update for easy cross-reference.
  3. Enter Moisture and Optional Loss
    • Initial Moisture (%): Enter the moisture reading straight from the field or wet storage.
    • Target Final Moisture (%): This field will automatically display the market standard for the selected crop (e.g., 15.5% for corn).
    • Handling Loss: Check the box if you want to include the standard Handling Loss (dust, chaff, and breakage) into the total shrink calculation.
  4. Review Final Yield and Revenue
    • The results section dynamically displays the full breakdown, including Moisture Shrink % and Total Shrink %.
    • Final Saleable Quantity and Total Loss are shown simultaneously in all five units (BU, LBS, CWT, ST, MT), calculated using the specific standards for your chosen crop.
    • Estimated Gross Revenue is calculated using the final saleable bushels and the price from the Planner section. The results update instantly as you type!
